Mensa Philippines is fortunate to have a slightly refreshed crop of officers this time around.

Dimpy Jazmines is a human resources pro at Bayan Telecom. So if you have issues regarding your Bayan subscriptions, he’s the guy to hound. More to the point, he’s a former Mensa President (so yeah he’s not that fresh) and is currently our Public Relations person. He’s also a wiz when it comes to social networking communications.

Tiffany “TP” Tan is our newest source of fresh blood. She currently teaches at Mapua Institute of Technology as she pursues her Masters degree. If you’ve been to a recent Mensa event, you’ve likely have seen her at the reception table, which is fast becoming her natural habitat in Mensa.

Charlene Tan has been our Treasurer for centuries now. She’s so dang good at what she does that we just don’t feel like letting go of her. She also runs a solar energy business. If you’ve ever wanted to prop up a solar panel in your home, then single her out at the next Mensa meetup.

Atty. Melvin Villa is not a new Mensan, but he’s kind of a new recruit to the Execom, so he counts as fresh blood as he serves as our Corporate  Secretary. And he knows his stuff. He’s a geologist who went rogue and now runs his own law firm. Got legal issues? Get Atty. Melvin drunk first and then see if you can prod freebie advice from him.

Zuriel Bernardino is a seminarian who is now actively setting up an innovative church in the Fort area. That makes him a nice guy, and it makes it all the more difficult for me to write something snarky about him. But he’s our VP and Membership Director, and he likes people, which is good. We need more Mensans who actually like people.

And finally, Art Ilano is a professor at the University of the Philippines, where he teaches marketing and strategy to anyone who has the patience to listen to him. He is the President, but he’s been around for so long that he has singlehandedly upped the average age of the group to the line of 60s. He is looking forward to passing the baton to someone younger and brimming with ideas for Mensa. Next year!
